Winter 2026, Bright Art Gallery

The Concept

What does it mean for art to be temporary? Ephemera invited artists to explore the beauty of "things that exist, are used, or are enjoyed for only a short time." In a world often obsessed with permanence, this exhibition celebrates the transient, the decaying, and the fragile.

THE artists

Twelve artists from across Victoria (from Wodonga to Port Fairy), brought works to the Bright Art Gallery coinciding with their Winter Alpine Artists exhibition. Works included textile based installations, scorched timber sculptures, waxed paintings, organic pigments, and found objects including driftwood, ceramics and beach litter.

Participating artists were:
